Sunday Worship

Join us at Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Alexandria for our Sunday Worship services, where the community comes together in a celebration of faith and fellowship. Every Sunday at 1:00 PM, we gather to enjoy traditional worship music, heartfelt prayers, and inspiring sermons that speak to the heart and soul. Our services are designed to uplift, inspire, and bring those who attend closer to God, offering a spiritual sanctuary to reflect, pray, and connect with the divine.

Our Sunday Worship is the cornerstone of our week, providing a space for individuals and families of all ages to come together in worship and reflection. Whether you're a long-time member of the Mount Vernon community or visiting for the first time, you're welcomed into a loving, supportive environment. Through our worship, we seek to create moments of deep spiritual connection and offer guidance and inspiration for the week ahead.

Bible Study Groups

At Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Bible Study Group Ministry serves as a cornerstone of spiritual growth and Christian fellowship within the life of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Rooted in the conviction that God’s Word is living and active, this ministry provides opportunities for believers to gather regularly to study Scripture, deepen their understanding of God’s truth, and apply biblical principles to daily life.

Through small group studies, guided discussions, and prayerful reflection, participants grow in their faith, encourage one another in discipleship, and build lasting relationships grounded in Christ’s love. Each session is designed to foster spiritual maturity, strengthen personal devotion, and equip believers to serve both the church and the wider community.

Whether meeting in homes, at church, or online, the Bible Study Group Ministry seeks to cultivate a vibrant community of believers who are committed to learning, living, and sharing the Gospel. Together, we grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, becoming faithful witnesses to His truth in every aspect of life.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” — Acts 2:42

Church Prayer Meetings

Prayer Meetings

The Prayer Meeting Ministry stands at the heart of our church’s spiritual life, uniting believers in humble dependence upon God. As a congregation of the Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, we affirm that prayer is both a privilege and a powerful means through which the Lord accomplishes His will among His people.

Each week, members gather to seek the Lord together—lifting praises, interceding for one another, and praying for our church, community, nation, and the world. These meetings are times of spiritual renewal, mutual encouragement, and heartfelt communion with God and one another.

Through corporate prayer, we strengthen our faith, grow in grace, and align our hearts with God’s purposes. The Prayer Meeting Ministry reminds us that Christ Himself invites His church to come boldly before the throne of grace, trusting that He hears and answers according to His perfect will.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face… then will I hear from heaven.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14

Nursing Home Ministry

The Nursing Home Ministry of Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church seeks to share Christ’s love, comfort, and hope with residents in local care facilities. Guided by the compassion of our Lord, this ministry reaches out to those who may feel forgotten or lonely, reminding them that they are deeply loved by God and valued by His church.

Through regular visits, worship services, Scripture readings, prayer, and personal encouragement, our volunteers bring the light of the Gospel and the warmth of Christian fellowship to each resident. Hymns are sung, hands are held, and hearts are lifted as we proclaim God’s faithfulness and grace in every season of life.

This ministry embodies our church’s mission to serve others as Christ served us—offering not only words of comfort but genuine companionship and care. In doing so, we honor the wisdom and faith of those who have walked before us and affirm their continued place in the body of Christ.

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he; I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you.” — Isaiah 46:4

Route 1 Corridor Ministry

The Route 1 Corridor Ministry exists to extend Christ’s compassion to those experiencing homelessness and hardship in our community. Grounded in the Gospel, this ministry seeks not only to meet physical needs but also to share the transforming love and hope found in Jesus Christ.

Through acts of service such as providing meals, clothing, care packages, and spiritual encouragement, volunteers serve as the hands and feet of Christ to those in need. More than assistance, we offer dignity, prayer, and friendship—affirming that every person bears the image of God and is worthy of love and respect.

In partnership with local shelters and outreach organizations, our ministry works to connect individuals with resources that promote healing, restoration, and renewed purpose. Together, we strive to live out the command of Scripture to “love your neighbor as yourself,” demonstrating God’s mercy to the most vulnerable among us.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” — Matthew 25:35

Jail Ministry

The Jail Ministry of Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church is dedicated to bringing the light of the Gospel to those who are incarcerated, reminding them that God’s grace and redemption reach even behind prison walls. Rooted in Christ’s call to “remember those in prison” (Hebrews 13:3), this ministry seeks to share hope, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal through the power of God’s Word.

Volunteers meet with inmates to lead Bible studies, offer prayer, and encourage personal visits and correspondence. Each encounter is an opportunity to remind men and women that no life is beyond God’s reach and that transformation is possible through faith in Jesus Christ.

This ministry not only serves the spiritual needs of inmates but also supports their families and assists with reentry into the community—helping them find their place in God’s plan for their lives. Through compassion, prayer, and the truth of Scripture, we proclaim freedom to the captive and restoration to the brokenhearted.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor… to proclaim liberty to the captives.” — Luke 4:18

Pro-Life Ministry

The Pro-Life Ministry of Calvary Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church stands firmly for the sanctity of human life as revealed in Scripture and affirmed by our Reformed faith. We believe that every life—born and unborn—is created in the image of God and is therefore precious, purposeful, and worthy of protection.

This ministry seeks to uphold life through prayer, education, compassion, and practical support. We partner with local pregnancy centers, provide resources for expectant mothers and families in crisis, and encourage the congregation to advocate for life with grace and truth. In every effort, we aim to reflect Christ’s love by offering hope, healing, and gospel-centered care to those facing difficult choices.

Through this work, we affirm that life is a sacred gift from God, and we commit ourselves to defending it at every stage—speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves and extending the mercy of Christ to all.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:13-14
